One night Margo appears at Quentin's window and they have a night full of adventures, mostly playing pranks on people in their school. The next morning Quentin shows up at school and wonders if things will now be different between him and Margo - but she is not there. He searches everywhere for clues to find out what happened to her and even goes on a massive road trip with his friends in their search for Margo.
I loved the first section of the book which was about Quentin's adventurous night out with Margo. Although it was a bit unrealistic I chose to forget that and just enjoy what was happening. The next section was when Margo had disappeared and Quentin was trying to put all the clues together. This was good, but at the time I was considering the possibility that Margo had killed herself and couldn't deal with reading yet another John Green book about someone dying. I'm not going to tell you what happened to her, just remember that this is a John Green book and anything could happen. The last section about the road trip was so fun to read. It made me want to take a long road trip with a bunch of people. There were moments which really made me laugh just seeing the problems they have with being stuck in a car for a very long time and being able to relate to them.
My problem with this book was that I found Margo to be pretty selfish and it took Quentin way too long to see that. She was definitely an extremely interesting girl, and I wish I had that kind of confidence, but there were times I got slightly annoyed with her for being so selfish. I won't say anymore because I don't want to give any spoilers in case you haven't read it.
If you haven't read this book I suggest you do. I loved reading it and was pretty sad when it ended. It was fun reading a book from a guy's point of view for a change. I've realised I don't read that many books where a guy is the main character. Now it seems that I am because I've recently bought a few more that happen to have guys as the main characters. It's also one of those books that makes you think about your own life and how you treat people and react to different situations.
Go read it and let me know what you think. Or if you have already read it tell me what you thought about it. Leave a comment or tweet me at @WaffleDreamland
