My Favourite Christmas Films

December is approaching extremely fast which means it is time to watch all the amazing Christmas films out there. There's nothing like a good Christmas film to get you in a Christmassy mood, and I can't wait to get started on them all. I'm not going to say what they're about because I'm sure most of you know already. I'm just giving my opinions.

Here is a list of my top 5 Christmas films :)

1. Home Alone 2: Lost in New York

This is one of the greatest films ever made, in my opinion. I watch it every single year and still can't get enough. Kevin is so cute and has the most amazing ideas for stopping the burglars. I also love how everything is so far-fetched. There's no way in real life a kid would end up on the wrong plane without his family and be allowed to use his father's credit card in a super fancy hotel. Also the burglars definitely should have died about ten times after everything they went through. I love how Christmassy this film is too, with the toy shop and the huge Christmas tree. New York at Christmas is something I really want to experience at least once in my life.

2. Home Alone

This is another really great film. I'll admit it's not as good as the second one, but that's mainly because it's not set in New York so there's no adventure in it. But again, everything is extremely far-fetched which I love. I know a lot of people hate that but I really love it. If you want things to be realistic then you can just look at your own lives really. I love all the Christmas things like the lights and the trees and the Christmas music. It always gets me in the mood for Christmas.

3. Elf

I'll admit that I often get a bored with the storyline for this film after the first half, but it is still a super amazing film. There are just soooo many great lines in it that people still always quote. It's definitely one of the funniest films ever made, and if for some crazy reason you haven't seen it yet you really should go watch it right now! I'm not much of a Will Ferrell fan, but he is so funny in this.

4. The Santa Clause

This is one of the most Christmassy films ever made. It's got Santa in it, the North Pole, elves, toys...everything. The little boy in it is really cute, and I love how he believes from the very beginning that his father is Santa Claus. I didn't watch this film last year and I really wish I did because it is so good and part of my Christmas traditions. I'm definitely going to watch it very soon. I think it might be a bit dated now, it was made in the early 90s, but it's still worth watching for all the Christmassy things in it.

5. The Holiday

I haven't watched this in years because I can't find it anywhere! This is such a cute film. It's a typical chick flick but it's just so lovely and has the best actors. Everything's really lovely and Christmassy, and I just feel really good when I watch it. I recommend this to anyone who feels like watching a really cute film with a happy ending. I love how we see stories from England and Los Angeles, seeing how different people spend Christmas and stuff like that. Honestly, go watch it, it's so good.

So let me know what your favourite Christmas films are. Do you have a completely different top 5? Let me know what you think...maybe you'll mention something I've never seen before.

SUPERNATURAL #2

It's been a while since my last Supernatural post - but wow a lot has happened!

I've been watching a few episodes when I can but on the weekend I went over a friend's house and a few of us had a huge Supernatural marathon. We watched most of Season 3 and even started Season 4.

So yeah, Dean has just come back from hell - saved by Castiel it seems. I don't know what the writers and casting people thought when they introduced Castiel into this. Did they not realise we were already emotionally unstable with the first two hot guys?? I mean, look at him...wow!

My favourite episode so far was "Mystery Spot". This was the one like Groundhog Day, but in my opinion it was even better. I love storylines like that; I actually wish there were more things with that sort of idea. I remember watching a film once and some guy had to do Christmas Eve over and over again. I really enjoyed that. Oooh I really want to watch it now but I can't remember what film it was. If anyone knows what film it is please let me know! I'll love you so much.

Anyway, back to Supernatural... I'm a bit confused now I'm watching Season 4. Still trying to figure out this whole thing going on with Castiel. I just watched the episode when Dean was sent back in time and met his parents when they were younger. He met the Demon again and discovered some more about why his mother was killed. Interesting stuff. But now I'm excited to watch even more.

It has also been confirmed that the actors playing Sam, Dean and Castiel are going to Asylum 14 next year which I'm soooo excited about! I'd love to meet them all but I just don't have the money. But seeing them from a distance in the panels and stuff will still be really amazing.

So let me know what your favourite episode was of Season 3. And if you've never watched the show before you should definitely give it a try and let me know what you think. Let me know if you know which Christmas film I was talking about earlier.

Q&A: More About Me

I love the idea of doing a Q&A post for you, no matter what the questions are about. A lot of the questions I received last night were more about me so I'm using this Q&A to let you guys know a bit more about me. Some questions were a bit too personal and inappropriate so I've had to leave those out!

Do you have a boyfriend?
No, I do not have a boyfriend.

Who is your favourite singer?
I found this question really tricky - I don't think I actually have a favourite singer in particular. My music taste is pretty varied so I love all sorts of different artists. I seem to be going through a Bee Gees phase at the moment but I also love Michael Buble, Take That, Ariana Grande, Katy Perry, Billy Joel. It often depends on my mood really.

What is the weirdest date you've ever been on?
I went out with this guy once who I didn't really know that well. We decided to meet in the middle of a shopping centre so we didn't feel awkward being completely alone. He turned up 45 minutes late because of really bad traffic and when he finally arrived we just wandered around the shops. I felt like I was following him around like a sheep. He was extremely tired too and kept saying how tired he was until I told him to just go home and get some sleep - and he agreed! He went home, and I haven't heard from him since. It was so weird.

Who is your favourite actor and actress?
Yikes this was another tough question for me. My favourite actor would probably be Evan Peters from American Horror Story. When I first watched it I realised I was getting a little crush on him and I thought I was being weird. Then I found out that I am definitely not alone. I don't know, there's something about him that is just really hot!
My favourite actress is Lauren Graham from Gilmore Girls. I've mentioned this before but Gilmore Girls is my all time favourite tv show and I always feel extremely happy when I watch it. Lorelai, the character that Lauren Graham plays, is so funny and so special to me.

If you could travel to any place in the world where would you go?
I dream of seeing Rome. To be honest I'd love to see so many places in Italy. It just looks so beautiful, and I love the Italian culture. I know I could never be bored and I would be extremely fascinated by everything around me.

Who is your favourite Supernatural character?
Dean makes me laugh in every episode. I hope I never come across anyone in my life who dislikes Dean because he is amazing. Sam is great too, he's definitely growing on me, but I think Dean is even better!

Thank you to everyone who asked me questions, I really appreciate it. Hopefully now you know a little more about me and my interests. You know I would love to hear from you all so ask me anything you want and I will answer you or just give me your opinions or ideas.

Thinking of Doing a Q&A Post

Hey I really want to know what other people would like to see in my blog. I do have specific interests but I really want this blog to have different content that is relevant to all sorts of people. This could be risky but I don't want to stick to one specific niche right now.

One thing I want to do is answer any questions you have. Maybe you have questions about beauty or books or films and maybe you want my opinions or advice. Whatever it is, I'd love to answer your questions.

So please leave a comment or tweet me at @WaffleDreamland and I will answer your questions in my Q&A post. It can be about anything at all.

My Favourite Foundation Brand: Clinique

My first experience at a Clinique counter was amazing. The girl used all these amazing skincare products on me and introduced me to the foundation that I would continue to use for the next four years. This was Clinique's Even Better foundation. It can be used to treat hyper-pigmentation and even prevent hyper-pigmentation in the future. This is not the reason I used this foundation, but I do struggle with hyper-pigmentation so it was nice for me to know that I was using a foundation that would help with that. It is designed to even skin tone which it definitely did for me, and I really loved it.

I had some major issues with my skin in my late teens and I experienced all kinds of skin problems at different times. I used this foundation throughout the whole time I had this difficulty, and it definitely was the right choice for that time. I had to change shades a couple of times which was odd but I think that was due to all the changes going on with my skin since I had been through a lot.

Clinique's Even Better foundation comes in 28 shades and is currently £24.50. I believe it was a few pounds cheaper when I first bought it, but it is definitely worth the price. Of course there are much cheaper drugstore brands available, but you are definitely paying for quality. I was extremely happy with this foundation and didn't feel comfortable experimenting with anything new.

Once I was over all my skin troubles my skin seemed almost completely different. I knew it was time for a change in foundation so I paid a visit to a Clinique counter and asked for some advice. The girl at the counter was amazing - she was so friendly and helpful. She tried a few different types of foundation on me and asked what I preferred, taking into account the consistency etc. We came to the conclusion that the foundation I just had to buy was Clinique's Repairwear Laser Focus foundation. This is mostly for softening the appearance of wrinkles - basically an anti-aging foundation. Although this isn't a huge concern for me right now since I'm only 21, I've been told that it doesn't hurt to start using these things now. Of course I didn't buy it for that reason.

This foundation is amazing in so many ways, and the reason I just had to buy it was because it has such a lovely dewy finish. My skin looks amazing with it on and it even smells nice. Everything about it is so perfect to me. I wear Shade 01 which seemed strange for me since it is the lightest shade in this range. It comes in 12 different shades. My skin is actually quite fair, but I didn't think it was fair enough to need the lightest shade. However it is perfect for me, and I love it! This foundation gives a bit more coverage than the Even Better which I needed because I was getting annoyed by my acne scars. Both foundations also contain SPF 15 which I like because it's nice knowing I have that little bit of sun protection - even though more protection is often needed.

My only complaint is the bottle. It comes in a beautiful glass bottle which makes it extra special, but I find I waste so much trying to pour it out of the bottle. The Even Better foundation could be squeezed from a small hole so I couldn't waste so much. This foundation is currently £29 per bottle which is pretty pricey, but again I believe it is worth it. Once I learned how to minimise waste I was able to make a bottle last a very long time.

Clinique is my brand for foundation. I love their other products and also love experimenting with other brands - but I stick to Clinique for foundation. I know I can trust the products and I know I am getting great value for money.

Have you used any of these foundations before? Tell me what you thought of them or tell me which foundations you love. I believe foundation is tricky since there are so many different types and getting the right shade can be a nightmare. But once you get the right one it's amazing. I totally recommend getting help at a makeup counter too.

SUPERNATURAL

A few months ago I started watching Supernatural. For some insane reason I agreed (and paid too much money) to go to Asylum 14 next May which is a convention especially for Supernatural. When I agreed to go I think I had only watched a few episodes. It is now my aim to get to the end of season 10 by next May. I am currently half way through season 2. I have a long way to go.

So I am going to share with you my Supernatural journey over the next few months. Let me warn you that I will be posting whatever thoughts I have so there will be a lot of spoilers for anyone who hasn't seen it before

So far I'm really enjoying it. I found it difficult to get into the first season if I'm being honest, but looking back it actually was pretty good. Season 2 in my opinion is soooo much better, I'm loving it.

The episode I watched yesterday was when Sam was possessed by a demon and tried to kill as many other hunters as possible. At the end of the episode I'm pretty sure someone said it was the same demon that possessed Meg in the first season. Now that's something I'm looking forward to knowing more about. I already know from clues from a friend that we haven't seen the last of Meg so I'm just waiting for her to turn up again.

I think if I want to reach the end of season 10 by May I need to start watching 7 episodes per week. Now I know for some people that isn't very difficult but I watch Supernatural in the evening and only watch one episode at a time. Maybe soon I'll be able to watch more in one evening. But I would love to share with you how I'm getting on with it and what I think. It seems that it is going to get even more exciting, and I can't wait for that.

I love Dean and Sam and I know it wouldn't be the same without them. I'm actually one of the biggest Gilmore Girls fans out there (don't try arguing with me on that one) so it took me a while to adjust to seeing Dean from Gilmore Girls now playing Sam in Supernatural. I despise Dean from Gilmore Girls, but now that I see him as Sam in Supernatural I like him a lot more and I am beginning to forgive him for everything in Gilmore Girls. By the way, if you haven't seen that you need to. I'm sure I'll do a Gilmore Girls post one day because I love it so much.

So let me know if you've seen Supernatural and what you thought of it. Please don't give away any spoilers because I don't think I could forgive you. Also let me know if you're going to Asylum 14. Leave a comment or tweet me at @WaffleDreamland.

Back From A Long Break

I think blogging was a phase I went through a little while ago which I quickly got over. I wish it hadn't gone like that though. I would love to work on this blog and make it enjoyable for you to read.

I'm still trying to figure out exactly what I want this blog to be like - but I know I'm passionate about beauty and trying different products. However, I don't feel like I know enough to be able to write blog posts, and what I write might turn out to be completely rubbish. So I guess I'm going to share the things I love and give my opinions on them. Hopefully I'll be trying out new things too and giving my opinions on those. I suppose if you want expert advice you already know you've come to the wrong blog; there are so many other blogs out there written by incredibly talented people who have way more experience than me. But if you just want an opinion from a fairly normal 21 year old then keep reading and look out for more of my posts. I would love to learn more about blogging and how I can make my blog look more and more amazing. There are so many things I don't know so right now I'm just sticking to the basics, but I'm always looking for ways to learn more things.

Beauty is already a small hobby of mine. I love looking online at different products and wishing I could buy them. I love watching YouTube videos of all the amazing beauty experts out there. Now I just want to expand this hobby and get totally involved in it. I guess I can be a bit tight with my money and unwilling to spend so much on beauty products but I have come to realise that I should spend money in moderation on the things I love.

So please let me know if there is anything you want me to do or give my opinion on - even if it isn't beauty related. Leave a comment or tweet me at @WaffleDreamland. Let's enjoy this together :)
