I had some major issues with my skin in my late teens and I experienced all kinds of skin problems at different times. I used this foundation throughout the whole time I had this difficulty, and it definitely was the right choice for that time. I had to change shades a couple of times which was odd but I think that was due to all the changes going on with my skin since I had been through a lot.
Clinique's Even Better foundation comes in 28 shades and is currently £24.50. I believe it was a few pounds cheaper when I first bought it, but it is definitely worth the price. Of course there are much cheaper drugstore brands available, but you are definitely paying for quality. I was extremely happy with this foundation and didn't feel comfortable experimenting with anything new.
Once I was over all my skin troubles my skin seemed almost completely different. I knew it was time for a change in foundation so I paid a visit to a Clinique counter and asked for some advice. The girl at the counter was amazing - she was so friendly and helpful. She tried a few different types of foundation on me and asked what I preferred, taking into account the consistency etc. We came to the conclusion that the foundation I just had to buy was Clinique's Repairwear Laser Focus foundation. This is mostly for softening the appearance of wrinkles - basically an anti-aging foundation. Although this isn't a huge concern for me right now since I'm only 21, I've been told that it doesn't hurt to start using these things now. Of course I didn't buy it for that reason.
This foundation is amazing in so many ways, and the reason I just had to buy it was because it has such a lovely dewy finish. My skin looks amazing with it on and it even smells nice. Everything about it is so perfect to me. I wear Shade 01 which seemed strange for me since it is the lightest shade in this range. It comes in 12 different shades. My skin is actually quite fair, but I didn't think it was fair enough to need the lightest shade. However it is perfect for me, and I love it! This foundation gives a bit more coverage than the Even Better which I needed because I was getting annoyed by my acne scars. Both foundations also contain SPF 15 which I like because it's nice knowing I have that little bit of sun protection - even though more protection is often needed.
My only complaint is the bottle. It comes in a beautiful glass bottle which makes it extra special, but I find I waste so much trying to pour it out of the bottle. The Even Better foundation could be squeezed from a small hole so I couldn't waste so much. This foundation is currently £29 per bottle which is pretty pricey, but again I believe it is worth it. Once I learned how to minimise waste I was able to make a bottle last a very long time.
Clinique is my brand for foundation. I love their other products and also love experimenting with other brands - but I stick to Clinique for foundation. I know I can trust the products and I know I am getting great value for money.
Have you used any of these foundations before? Tell me what you thought of them or tell me which foundations you love. I believe foundation is tricky since there are so many different types and getting the right shade can be a nightmare. But once you get the right one it's amazing. I totally recommend getting help at a makeup counter too.
